The Top 20 Ag Chemicals With The Highest Price Variation

Across a wide range of ag chemical products, and no matter the geography or popularity of the chemical, farmers continue to pay a wide range of prices for the same product. Price differences exist across the ag chemical industry, from widely used products like Roundup PowerMAX® to more specialty products. Price differences also occur for identical products, even within states—farmers within 5 miles from one another can pay widely varying prices.

Of the 250 chemicals we analyzed in our Updated Ag Chemical Price Transparency Report, now with new data from 2018, these 20 ag chemicals saw some of the highest price variation, all greater than 100 percent.

In 2018, prices for Roundup PowerMAX® are up by 14.93 percent.

We also observed that FBN members experienced price variability in ag chemicals depending on the size of their farming operation—smaller farm operations paid more for Roundup PowerMAX® per gallon in 2018 than those farmers with larger operations.
