FBN Hub Spotlight: Springfield, Colorado

We kicked off the 2020 crop year with the exciting launch of FBN Hubs across the U.S. This growing network of member-operated distribution sites allows farmers to buy inputs online through FBN Direct℠ and schedule free pickup locally.

You can also make convenient on-site purchases at your nearby FBN Hub as in-season needs arise and make eligible returns and/or exchanges for unused products.

All of this so you can focus more on your day-to-day operations and supporting your bottom line. It’s just one of the many ways we’re working together to put Farmers First®.

Josh Reid is a Hub operator in the southwest corner of Colorado, about 40 miles south of Lamar. With a warehouse at the Springfield Municipal Airport, Josh runs his FBN Hub in conjunction with his aerial application business.

He grew up on a cattle ranch in Westminster, Colorado, just outside of Denver, where his family focused on dryland crops, alfalfa and registered Black Angus cattle. After a few years off the farm, Josh moved to Springfield. There he combined his ag background with a love of flying, and he’s now in his seventh year as an aerial applicator.

Through some of his customers, Josh connected last year with an FBN account executive about opening a Hub in his area. When local customers place their order through FBN Direct℠— either online or by phone—they can come to his warehouse for pickup or he can deliver via his trucking business as well.

“Having a local Hub gives our farmers easy access to better pricing and agronomy expertise."

- Josh Reid

In a small community where ag is a major driver, the convenience and speed of a local FBN Hub can make a big difference.

“Having a local Hub gives our farmers easy access to better pricing and agronomy expertise that they didn’t have locally before,” says Josh. “And as we get bigger and have a greater presence here, we’ll be able to offer them more and service them better.”
