Farmer2Farmer V kicked off today and it feels exhilarating to connect with so many farmers across the FBN network. Here's our list of the top seven moments from Day One of Farmer2Farmer.

1. IT’S FINALLY HERE!

Thousands of farmers across the U.S. and Canada arrived in Omaha today to Beat the Odds. It's our biggest and best event yet, and we're just getting started.

2. Touring the City of Omaha

We coordinated a pair of tours this morning that were the talk of the town as Farmer2Farmer got underway. Farmers could either take a behind-the-scenes tour of the CLAAS of America plant where LEXION combines are assembled OR sample cuts from some of Omaha’s finest steakhouses. If you missed out on the CLAAS tour, be sure to stop by the trade show floor to see the LEXION combine up close.

3. Our 100,000-square-foot Tradeshow

Demos and deals were rolling today at the Farmer2Farmer tradeshow. Our FBN Direct℠ team members were on the tradeshow floor showing the value of our new FBN Savings Finder tool and helping farmers buy inputs at great prices. And the FBN Health booth was bustling with free flu shots, blood pressure checks and the Farmer2Farmer Walking Challenge.

4. Seeing Crop Circles Kick Off

Before the first mainstage session had even started, the room was buzzing during our Crop Circle kickoff. Our Farmer2Farmer Crop Circles give growers the opportunity to connect with other farmers from their region to share their experiences and ideas. With topics ranging from protecting yield to production practices, these candid conversations help farmers build community with other members across the FBN network. It was nothing short of awe-inspiring to see more than 2,000 farmers in attendance at tonight’s opening Crop Circles session!

5. All Eyes on the Main Stage

We opened Farmer2Farmer V with a bang. Following opening remarks from FBN co-founder Charles Baron—and a hilarious video compilation of some of our members getting ready to make the trip to Omaha—we heard a compelling keynote address from decorated Navy SEAL and best-selling author of Lone Survivor, Marcus Luttrell. What a way to start!

6. Taking It to the House: Farmer2Farmer V is Streaming LIVE

The Farmer2Farmer V livestream is up and running, hosted by ag reporter Sarah Mock and Millennial Farmer Zach Johnson. Today’s live coverage featured panel-style interviews on farm health, crop insurance and agronomy, just to name a few. We also hosted discussions with some familiar farm voices in social media, including Nick Welker of WelkerFarmsInc, Meredith Bernard of ThisFarmWife and Natalie Kovarik of RanchWivesBeefCo.

Missed the livestream today? Join us tomorrow as we come live from our main stage and continue with more conversations on some of the most important topics in today’s ag economy.
